The School Year Begins!
Today is the first day of school for High School and Middle School students in Prince William County, a day that I used to dread now brings me great joy! I am excited to have all the planning done and the implementation begin. The Eastern portion of PWC is booming with huddles in 5 High Schools and 2 Middle Schools. The Western portion of PWC has only a few huddles but has very strong leadership at those schools.
A couple things you can be praying for Prince William County FCA:
1. Funding: The Lord has provided and I reached my goal for Sept in funding for my personal budget. I am still searching for another $3500 a month in ministry partnerships to be able to go full time with FCA.
2. Campuses: Pray that the Lord would grow the existing huddles and start new ones throughout the county.
3. Camp/Community: As soon as I was offerred this position I began to pray that the Lord would give me vision for the ministry if he led me to step into this position. As I prayed the community of Prince William County was laid upon my heart. Prince William is different compared to the rest of the region because it is the most socio-economically diverse. There is one city in particular which has a very low standard of living and high crime area. I am meeting with local pastors, coaches, and students in hopes of putting on a (Next to free: $5) camp in Dumfries the last week in June 2011. I see this as a tremendous opportunity for the Body of Christ to come together to proclaim to the community that we care for the poor and the oppressed among us. I pray that this would bring God tremendous glory as individuals and organizations provide the necessary funds for kids to go to camp as well as coaches and athletes volunteering a week of their time to serve/coach needy children in our area.
Rachel and I appreciate your support so much! We would not be able to minister as much as we do without it.
