Follow the Leader

Much is written about leadership.  I like John Maxwell's simple definition: leadership is influence.  Influence is perhaps the key word in FCA. Since leaders are influential and will have followers, it is essential that the leader is a person worth following.

The best leader is a follower first - following Christ and thus leading others in His direction. It is a powerful influence when a coach or athlete follows in the footsteps of the Lord and lead others to do the same. May we all follow the true Leader.

My becoming a follower of Christ when I began to follow the lead of my high school coach, Coach Myers.  Thankfully, he had recently become a Christ follower and so following Coach Myers was leading me in the Lord's direction.  He had become a leader worth following by first being a follower.  I love seeing that scenario repeated in FCA!
