FCA and Your Sports Team
The vision for Battlefield Area FCA is to have an FCA huddle on every campus and for every team and a Character Coach for every team, on campus and off. Here are a few powerful resources for you to add to your sports team. If you would like to pursue any of these options, contact us today!
Character Coaches/Team Chaplains are a vital part of the FCA ministry. A Character Coach is an adult volunteer who can serve any sports team, on or off campus. He/she works in conjunction with the team’s head coach to meet some of the emotional, spiritual, and relational issues that coaches know need to be addressed, but they simply don’t have time because they are busy coaching the X’s and O’s of the sport. Additionally, the Character Coach provides encouragement to the coaches and arranges voluntary-attended chapel services and/or Bible Studies. For more information, click here
Team Huddle – Any sports team can have an FCA huddle that seeks to provide fellowship, outreach, and growth amongst the members of the team. A typical team huddle meets once a week before or after practice. To certify a team huddle, click here
FCA Sports Team – While most FCA ministry takes place on existing sports teams, there is the option of having forming an FCA Team. The Stafford Rays FCA baseball team is one local example (see below). For more information, click here
